Despite the delay to 2015, Tom Clancy’s The Division made a big splash at E3 2014 with a new cinematic trailer that showcased the fall of New York City, as well as a second trailer that focused on the title’s gameplay. Now a little more than a month removed from that event, Ubisoft has released a new video that goes into a little more depth.

Filmed during E3, the UbiBlog interviewed The Division director Ryan Barnard, who spoke about one of the gangs players will face off against. Dubbed The Cleaners, these vicious thugs seek out infected areas in order to burn bodies and eliminate anyone they think may be carrying the disease.

In order to combat these enemies, players will need to upgrade and improve their skills and abilities. Upgrades will not be handled through a traditional class-based system, though, as characters will evolve based around play styles. So if you use a certain weapon specifically, you will become more proficient with it as the game progresses.

During the interview, Barnard also goes further into depth about some of the technology at your disposal in the game. One of the more helpful gadgets appears to be the Firefly, which is a small flying object that blinds enemies. This will allow players to get the drop on these incapacitated foes and eliminate them.

Players will also be able to establish various bases of operation during their time with The Division. This can be accomplished through eliminating different gangs, such as The Cleaners, as well as eliminating traces of the disease found in each designated area. Completing these tasks will help raise survivor morale, which will then help to establish these strongholds.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is currently scheduled for release in 2015 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. Check out the UbiBlog interview below and let us know what you think about these features in the comments section.
