Lionhead Studios, home to the irresistible Peter Molyneux, has changed their website into a countdown timer set to end on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the start of GDC. A message above the counter states “It’s time for a fresh look and feel for our website. Who knows what other surprises are coming…”

It’s unknown what the “other surprises” are, but a recent job listing by the studio has lead to speculation that it could have something to do with Microsoft’s next console. The ad, posted on February 2nd, is for a Lead Engine Programmer that has experience with DirectX 11, which is not used on the Xbox 360 but has been rumored for the console’s unannounced successor.

We won’t know for sure what this is all about until next week, but feel free to let your speculation flag fly and let us know what you think Lionhead is up to in the comments down below.
