Fans of the Road Warrior will have to wait a while longer before they’ll be able to get their hands on Avalanche Studios’ in-development Mad Max video game. The title’s publisher, WB Interactive, announced a delay today, stating that the licensed game will now launch in 2015 instead of 2014.

For those unfamiliar with the project, here’s a plot description taken from the press release.

Set to release in 2015, Mad Max delivers open world gameplay in a post-apocalyptic setting where cars are the key to survival. Developed by Avalanche Studios, gamers become Mad Max, a lone warrior who must fight to stay alive in The Wasteland, using vicious on-ground and vehicular combat against savage gangs of bandits. Following the theft of his iconic Interceptor, Max must align himself with a gifted, but peculiar, mechanic named Chumbucket and others to build the ultimate war vehicle as he works to escape from the dangerous Wasteland.

Making the wait tougher for fans to bear, is the brand new trailer that accompanied the above-mentioned announcement. Available for viewing below, it showcases the badass vehicles that Max will be able to use in his attempts to obliterate the bad guys and their metallic rides. The noted vehicles are customizable, and can carry some heavy duty weaponry, as the video shows. On top of that, their designs have also been crafted with the help of the car gurus at West Coast Customs.

As the trailer puts it, Mad Max‘s vehicles are not only “a way to fight,” but also “a way to live.”
