Buoyed by the recent and overly successful beta – aside from those pesky cheaters on PC – Ubisoft’s post-pandemic shooter The Division is the talk of the town.

In a bid to capitalize on the hype, the mega-publisher has rolled out a new gameplay video for the MMO-esque title, detailing the ways in which medical, technology and security skills filter into the core experience. Ubisoft describes the video above as so:

“As an agent of The Division, you have access to a host of abilities that will help you progress through a fallen New York City. Learn about the 3 different categories of skills (Medical, Technology and Security) and how they can give you an edge in the heat of combat.”

Now that NYC has been brought to its knees by a vicious and seemingly incurable virus, The Division is an online-only experience that thrusts players into the thick of a survival mission, as they go about building a base of operations in a bitter-cold Manhattan. The Dark Zone, meanwhile, is essentially the title’s PvP area, allowing Ubisoft to ramp up the tension in the city’s abandoned underground. Below the Big Apple, it’s hunt or be hunted.

If you missed out on the opportunity to take The Division out for a spin last weekend, don’t fret; Ubisoft is poised to open up its MMO-lite shooter to the masses with an open beta test beginning February 16.
