Konami announced today the official release date for the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection on PlayStation Vita. The HD Collection includes two games; METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons of Liberty and METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater.
Although we noted earlier that the collection will arrive in June based on GameStop and Amazon listing, there wasn’t a confirmed release date from Konami. Now, we have a confirmed June 12 date which was originally found on those listings.
The Metal Gear Solid HD Collection is a great introduction into the Metal Gear Solid lore especially if you’ve played the original Metal Gear Solid. The game stars the infamous Solid Snake and takes you into a great stealth experience. Now, with the collection coming to Vita you’ll be able to take the game on the road.

From the critically acclaimed director, Hideo Kojima, METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection includes two beloved classics, METAL GEAR SOLID 2: Sons of Liberty and METAL GEAR SOLID 3: Snake Eater. Featuring stunning, upgraded graphics from the original releases on the PlayStation®2, both titles include Transfarring, where players can transfer save data from their PlayStation®3 METAL GEAR SOLID HD Collection to their PlayStation®Vita system and start the action from where they left off.
Metal Gear Solid HD Collection for the PlayStation®Vita allows fans to experience the series like never before with optimized controls that take full advantage of the Vita’s unique touch-screen and rear touchpad. Using just their fingers, gamers can zoom in on captivating cut-scenes, peek around corners, interrogate enemies, cycle through weapons/items, as well as perform quick attacks with their knife.
