According to a recent slip from Robert Bowling of Infinity Ward, Call Of Duty fans worldwide can expect a new angle on the popular/unpopular killstreak system that is currently in place and being mimicked by countless other titles. Via the noisy place that is Twitter, Mr Bowling said: “We changed the entire way the killstreak system works. I can’t go into detail yet, but I will share when I can”.
Interesting eh? To start off the inevitable and surprisingly enjoyable speculation arena, I personally wonder if they’ll be embracing the ‘team killstreak reward’ ethos in some way, giving more than one player a temporary boost in things like movement speed, armour, steady iron sights etc. Or maybe Infinity Ward are looking to abolish overpowered killstreak drop shops altogether, and sterilize the kill hoarding environment by concentrating on smaller, more tactical rewards?
Perhaps we may even see a move in a completely different direction, with Modern Warfare 3 unveiling a totally fresh system that will please fans, intrigue critics, and soothe the haters? If we can be sure of anything, it’s that Infinity Ward have to make sure whatever they’re doing actually gets tested properly, and that it serves as a valid upgrade.
What sort of changes would you like to see in Modern Warfare 3?
