Nintendo 64 & DS Titles Join The Wii U Virtual Console

Though many of the previous NES and Super Nintendo titles made available on the Wii Virtual Console service can also be found on the Wii U, Nintendo 64 titles have noticeably never made the jump. That changes starting today, though, as today's Nintendo Direct contained confirmation that both Nintendo 64 and DS games will be made available for the Wii U Virtual Console.

Though many of the previous NES and Super Nintendo titles made available on the Wii Virtual Console service can also be found on the Wii U, Nintendo 64 titles have noticeably never made the jump. That changes starting today, though, as today’s Nintendo Direct contained confirmation that both Nintendo 64 and DS games will be made available for the Wii U Virtual Console.

The rollout of nostalgic Nintendo titles for both systems has already started, as the groundbreaking 3D platformer Super Mario 64 and the handheld sidescroller Yoshi’s Island DS are available now for $9.99 each, with Super Mario 64‘s price slashed to $2 for those who previously purchased the Wii version. Other titles confirmed for release soon include Yoshi’s Touch & Go and WarioWare Touched on April 9, Donkey Kong 64 on April 16, Mario Kart DS on April 23, and Paper Mario on April 30.
