OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition Skates Its Way To Store Shelves Later This Year

OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition

Publisher Badland Games has teamed up with Roll7 to bring their hit skateboarding series to retail. Available this Summer, OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition will include both games in the series, 2014’s OlliOlli and last year’s OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood, on one disc. The compilation is currently set only to release on PlayStation 4, and no pricing details have been announced yet.

While there won’t be any exclusive in-game content in OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition, Badland Games is making a pretty compelling case for existing fans to double dip. The physical release will include a CD containing OlliOlli2‘s well received soundtrack, a booklet that talks about the game’s creation, and three separate documentaries focusing on the series. That’s a significant amount of extras, and since they don’t affect the game itself it shouldn’t rub those that already own OlliOlli digitally the wrong way.

This is exciting news for skateboarding fans since there hasn’t been a well critically praised skateboarding game on retail shelves since 2010’s Skate 3. What differentiates OlliOlli from other recent skateboarding titles is that it takes place from a 2D perspective, and has the player trying to make it through a stage without crashing.

As to be expected, Roll7 is excited that their breakout skateboarding game is getting a retail release and that more players can experience OlliOlli.

“We wanted to work with a partner that shared our vision for a quality product, but that also understood the limitations of a tiny team,” said Roll7’s director Simon Bennett. “Badlands have been super flexible with their approach – we can’t wait to see this in the hands of gamers worldwide.”

OlliOlli: Epic Combo Edition will release exclusively on PlayStation 4 in Summer 2016.
