Ominous Cinematic For Dark Souls III Teases Story, Monsters And Death

Publisher Bandai Namco has unleashed the opening cinematic to Dark Souls III, teasing the threequel’s ominous story, the monsters therein, and the inevitable deaths that await us all.

As Bandai teases, the foreboding sizzle reel is dripping with atmosphere, and is designed to “shed a tiny beam of light onto the mystery of where and when Dark Souls III takes place. The next chapter in the epic saga created from From Software will keep you guessing what’s around the next corner. You don’t want to miss this incredible adventure.”

After nurturing Bloodborne into a bona fide success, Game Designer Hidetaka Miyazaki returns at the helm for Dark Souls III, and fans of the former RPG can expect to see some cross-pollination between both franchises. A slightly faster and more agile protagonist, for instance. Don’t get fooled into a false sense of security, though, From Software’s imminent sequel will retain the series’ brutal learning curve, and it won’t be long before your reflexes are put to the sword once more in the unforgiving Souls universe.
