Origin Auto Adds EA Games You’ve Bought Through Steam – Less Creepy Than It Sounds

EA uses Origin to spy on your computer for...good? I can’t say I was really expecting this to be honest. Origin has been known to check out file names on your computer (without reporting back to EA of course), but it seems EA may have had an ace up its sleeve the entire time. A forum post on Day One Patch revealed that Origin can see that you’ve bought EA titles through Steam and will then add them to your Origin account.

While I haven’t had anything fun pop up for me yet, readers are reporting that Dead Space 2 is showing up quite often on their game list. EA is using its power for good, and doing an incredible job marketing its own titles in the process.
