In accordance with previous rumors, Rockstar Games has confirmed that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V has been delayed.

Initially scheduled to release this month alongside the new-fangled Heist missions for GTA Online, the studio has pushed the port back to March 24, 2015, citing a desire to add an extra sheen of polish before releasing it to the public.

Here’s the official statement per Rockstar:

“Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be,” Rockstar writes on their newswire. “Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March.”

While this is no doubt disappointing news for PC owners, the silver lining is that the aforementioned addition of Heists is still on course, with the company planning to implement the anticipated feature “in the coming weeks” before March 24.
