Sony announced today during their pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference that the company will release the Vita in two new colors, and [finally] launch PlayStation Plus for the handheld this November.

A PlayStation Plus subscription will run Vita owners $18 for three months, or $50 for a year. However, if you are already a Plus member on the PS3 the handheld side of the service will come at no additional cost. As part of the Plus subscription members will get the same features that they currently have on Sony’s home console, including; access to the Instant Game Collection, discounts on purchases, and 1GB online cloud storage.

Sony also announced two new colors for the PlayStation Vita today, “Sapphire Blue” and “Cosmic Red”. Currently, the new handheld colors are only scheduled for release in Japan on November 15th.
