After a listing for Resident Evil 5 appeared on the official Xbox website earlier today showing a June 28 release date for Xbox One, Capcom has confirmed to VideoGamer that the action/horror hybrid will be available to download both on Microsoft’s console and PlayStation 4 on the aforementioned date and will cost $20.

Whether you opted not to buy the original version back in 2009 or did the total opposite and played it to death, Capcom’s giving both parties ample reason to give the current-gen re-release a go, as it includes an updated 1080p resolution, improved frame rate and the inclusion of all past DLC released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 iterations.

Lost In Nightmares and Desperate Escape, two add-on story chapters that further elaborate on events prior to Resident Evil 5‘s main narrative, as well as the Versus, Mercenaries United and No Mercy modes will be included in the spruced-up version, so you’ll certainly be getting bang for your buck.

With the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 due to receive the same treatment within a few months, a full remake of Resident Evil 2 on the horizon and whispers of Resident Evil 7 being unveiled at E3 in just a couple of weeks, 2016 is shaping up to be the best year on record for the survival horror series.
