The Big N has planned to stream a Nintendo Direct conference tomorrow offering new details on upcoming content for the Wii U and 3DS entries of Super Smash Bros., but a lot, if not all of their potential surprises may have gotten out early. A new patch recently hit the Japanese version of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, and fan Liam Robertson did some analyzing of the data within the patch and found proof of two previously unannounced fighters who will hit the game as downloadable add-ons in the near future.

One character, Roy from the Fire Emblem series, previously appeared in the Gamecube entry Super Smash Bros. Melee, but has been absent from the series up to this point. The other character will probably be seen as the more enticing announcement, due to this being their first appearance in the series. None other than Ryu, the lead character of the iconic Street Fighter series, will be hitting Smash Bros. very soon.

Besides these two fighters, hacking the patch also provided access to previously announced returning fighter Lucas from Mother 3, who is already scheduled to release tomorrow alongside the conference. Other new features include collectable trophies of Ryu’s longtime partner Ken Masters and the female Inkling from Nintendo’s recent Splatoon, a new Street Fighter-themed stage and new Mega Man and Animal Crossing-based costumes for the customizable Mii Fighters.

At this point, it’s entirely possible that every announcement during tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct may consist of these already confirmed items, but hopefully we’ll get info on possible release dates for the new content.
