The video game super sleuth Superannuation has discovered a new domain registration by Square Enix that seems to be related to Crystal Dynamics’ Legacy of Kain intellectual property.

According to WhoIs, the domain WarFornosGoth.com (War Fornos Goth) was registered by Square Enix’s registrar (CSC Corporate Domains) on Thursday  February 7, 2013. Currently, the actual website does not lead anywhere and the listing (obviously) does not provide any details as to what the site will be used for.

Supporting the Legacy of Kain theory is a rumor from last May that claimed that Crystal Dynamics was working on a reboot to the series. If correct, this would mark the first new game in the franchise since Legacy of Kain: Defiance was released in 2003 for the PS2, Xbox, and PC.

Interestingly, this is the second vampire-related website that has been registered by Square Enix in recent weeks. On January 29th the publisher also grabbed the .com and .net domains for Blood Masque. It is unclear if the two domain names are related, however, we have to admit that our hopes for a Square Enix published Grandpa Munster-themed video game took a big hit with today’s news.

With E3 around the corner we should be getting some official answers as to what Square Enix is up to very shortly. We will keep an eye out for any Legacy of Kain (or Grandpa Munster) news and let you know as soon as anything is announced.
