It’s set to begin on Tuesday, December 20, with a two-part premiere entitled “Ties That Bind,” and the studio has now dropped the thrilling, nail-biting launch trailer to drum up excitement. Introducing viewers to a slightly more ruthless Clementine – the wise-beyond-her-years protagonist that has anchored Telltale’s acclaimed series from season 2 onwards – we also get a glimpse of Javier and Jesus, a character who ought to be familiar to fans of The Walking Dead TV show.

Initially announced at The Game Awards 2016, The Walking Dead: A New Frontier will comprise five episodes in total, and you can have a gander at the official description below ahead of next week’s debut.

“When family is all you have left… how far will you go to protect it? Four years after society was ripped apart by undead hands, pockets of civilization emerge from the chaos. But at what cost? Can the living be trusted on this new frontier? As Javier, a young man determined to find the family taken from him, you meet a young girl who has experienced her own unimaginable loss. Her name is Clementine, and your fates are bound together in a story where every choice you make could be your last.”

Season 3 of Telltale’s The Walking Dead will kick off with “Ties That Bind” Part I & Part II on Tuesday, December 20. A retail release is planned for February 7, 2017 – the physical equivalent of a Season Pass, if you will – and we’ll have more information for you on that one closer to the time.
