On the heels of Sony detailing yesterday’s new arrivals for PlayStation Plus, Microsoft has revealed the software headed to Xbox Games with Gold for the month of September. Headlining the newcomers is Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Xbox One, offering up the perfect opportunity to get acquainted with Crystal Dynamics’ rendition of Lara Croft before her appearance in November’s sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider. The 2013 reboot will be available to download on the current-gen system between September 16 and October 15.

Before that, though, Xbox One owners can look forward to pixel art adventure The Deer God on September 1. Crescent Moon Games’ indie title made its debut on Steam and Ouya some months ago, but now, the publisher is ready to usher the religious-themed platformer onto Xbox One next week. It’ll be available to download right up until September 30.

As for Xbox 360, Microsoft will be rolling out Battlestations: Pacific on September 1 until September 15. At that point, it will be replaced by Crytek’s futuristic shooter Crysis 3, which will be available on the Games with Gold service from September 16 right up until September 30.

All in all, it’s an impressive and timely line-up from Microsoft. Crystal Dynamic’s Rise of the Tomb Raider will be gaining more and more traction over the coming weeks in the build up to launch, so providing Xbox One owners with the chance to get up to speed is a welcome addition to the digital selection. If action adventure games aren’t your thing, though, The Deer God is a pixel art experience that shouldn’t be overlooked.
