Tropico 5, the most recent installment in Kalypso Media’s long-running RTS franchise, is due to receive a new expansion later this week in the form of Espionage. Slated for May 28, the add-on will be priced at $19.99 across Steam and Kalypso’s digital storefront, and will be available for PC, Mac and Linux.

As expected, Espionage won’t make its way onto console platforms until later this year, though both Kalypso and developer Haemimont Games are committed to bringing the port over to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sooner rather than later.

Here’s a brief synopsis of what the expansion will entail:

Protect Tropico’s borders and reveal enemy agents by installing Security Checkpoints and throwing them in the island’s new Dungeon. Train your own spies in the new Spy Academy and send them off to steal foreign capital or top secret technology from your enemies. Foil attacks on your beautiful island paradise by building the Ministry Of Information and monitor your citizens according to the strict Tropican data privacy laws. For additional air security you can call on the new Police Blimp, and for serious military scenarios you will be equipped with some new toys: the Mechanized Garrison is battle seasoned and ready for any state of emergency.

Boasting an all-new campaign segment and a total of four never-before-seen islands – including Dos Torres and Grito Grande – Espionage is certainly not wanting for content, and fans of Tropico 5 will no doubt be excited about the release of new content.

Kalypso Media has slated the expansion for a release on May 28, and we’ll keep you up-to-date about the status of Tropico 5 and indeed Espionage as the DLC nears its due date.
