Xenoblade Chronicles Is Coming To Nintendo’s New 3DS Systems

Revealed during Nintendo's New 3DS and New 3DS XL introductory livestream was the news that a port of Monolith Soft's popular Wii RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles, is in the works for the two devices. Apparently just those systems, too, because it's been reported that previous incarnations of the 3DS will not have the horsepower to run the demanding game.

Revealed during Nintendo’s New 3DS and New 3DS XL introductory livestream was the news that a port of Monolith Soft’s popular Wii RPG, Xenoblade Chronicles, is in the works for the two devices. Apparently just those systems, too, because it’s been reported that previous incarnations of the 3DS will not have the horsepower to run the demanding game.

Originally released in 2010, Xenoblade Chronicles was a hit with fans of Japanese role-playing games. It also received critical acclaim, including a 4.5 star review score from us at We Got This Covered. As such, it comes as no surprise that the title has become both rare and coveted, selling for $100+ in some places.

Like Xenoblade Chronicles X for Wii U, Xenoblade Chronicles 3DS will be released sometime in 2015. That is, in Japan. We’re still unsure of when exactly the game will hit North American shores, but will let you know when we find out.
