10 Things That Made Absolutely No Sense In Avengers: Endgame

It's now been a few days since Avengers: Endgame arrived in cinemas at the end of last week, so most of us super-fans have seen it at least once. Endgame's the sort of movie that hits you right in the gut upon first viewing as it's so well-crafted to pull at the heartstrings and reduce you to a blubbering wreck. Truly, the Russo brothers and the rest of the team deserve credit for pulling off the incredible feat of delivering a fitting ending to the Infinity Saga.

Could Cap Returning The Soul Stone Save Black Widow?

Here’s one more mystery about Cap’s time trip we need to discuss. We wish we saw him travel to Vormir so we could see Steve come face-to-skull with his nemesis once again, but actually, there’s a much more significant reason this scene should have been depicted. Surely it’s possible that returning the Soul Stone could resurrect Black Widow, right?

We know that the Soul Stone requires a sacrifice in order for someone to claim it, but what about if someone brings it back? Shouldn’t the reverse also be true, like when you get store credit for returning an item? The exact phrase the Red Skull uses is “a soul for a soul.” This would seem to suggest that Cap could hand back the gem and request that the life used to claim it in the first place be restored.

This doesn’t seem to be the case, though, as Natasha doesn’t make a comeback at the end of the movie. There’s always the chance this could play out in the upcoming Black Widow film, but that appears to be a prequel without any connection to the present timeline.
