The 10 Biggest Reveals From New York Comic Con

Along with July's San Diego Comic Con, October's New York Comic Con is usually one of the biggest pop culture events of the year. 2016's convention - the eleventh of the annual event - was no different and over the course of last weekend, we learned some fantastic things about our favorite films and TV shows.

2011’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes was a surprisingly intelligent and engrossing reboot/prequel of the classic franchise, held together by a fantastic motion capture performance from Andy Serkis as Caesar. Even more impressive was that 2014’s Dawn of the Planet of the Apes was just as good. Now, the pressure is on for the upcoming War of the Planet of the Apes to continue to hit the high bar set by the previous two instalments.

While it doesn’t give us a look at the film itself, this first trailer that landed at NYCC offers a visually stunning tease for the movie. In it, a blizzard drifts into a black void and gradually settles to outline Caesar’s face. Serkis’ voiceover then begins, saying to someone unknown (his wife and child from the previous film?) that they need to get away before the fighting starts. “I am sorry,” he breathes. “War has begun.”
