3) Peter’s Dad Returns – The Amazing Spider-Man 2
The Amazing Spider-Man films may have crashed and burned, but they weren’t without their merits. Perhaps their boldest strand was the drawing out of the mystery of Peter’s parents. The second one went someway to explaining this but, thanks to the cancellation of the series, we will never get the full explanation. A huge spanner would have been thrown in the works of that storyline, however, if this shocking scene was left in the film.
While Peter is mourning Gwen at her graveside, a dishevelled guy comes up to him and reveals himself as Richard Parker, his father back from the grave! Jeez, Peter was having a really emotionally-draining time of it that day…
It’s probably a good thing this scene was left out, as it would have only meant we had more questions left unanswered.
