Star-Lord And Iron Man!
If any Marvel fan out there says they didn’t beam like an idiot when they first watched this part of the trailer, they’re lying. On top of showing us Tony with Gamora, the promo also treats us to a bit of banter between Iron Man and Star-Lord, a team-up we’ve been dreaming about since 2014.
On what looks like Thanos’ homeworld of Titan, which has been rendered a lifeless husk due to a past planet-wide tragedy, the pair are joined by Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) and Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and they seem to be preparing for a face-off with Thanos. The only problem is, Peter Quill isn’t too hyped for Tony’s plan.
“Let’s talk about this plan of yours,” says Peter, attempting to be diplomatic before just coming out with the truth. “I think it’s good except it sucks. So let me do the plan and that way it might be really good.”
Tony’s gobsmacked by Peter’s arrogance and can only say “wow.” It’s hilarious but also says something about Tony’s character development over the past ten years. He probably would have had a similar attitude to Peter back in Phase One, but now he’s matured enough to be the sensible one of the group.
