1) Joss Whedon’s Wonder Woman
Despite Superman Lives’ infamy, the unmade DC film that we wish had happened the most was a Wonder Woman movie from Joss Whedon. Known for being a writer of strong female characters, he would have been a perfect fit to bring the Amazon Princess to the screen.
A few years before he made blockbuster history with The Avengers, Whedon worked on a script for Wonder Woman which he also would have directed. It would have explored the character’s origins, as she adjusted to life in the world outside of her home Themyscira. Her love interest Steve Trevor would have to teach her about humanity while she taught him how the world could do better.
Unfortunately, after a number of years, Whedon pulled out of the project, citing the reason as “creative differences” with the studio.
A Wonder Woman movie will eventually land in 2017 with Gal Gadot in the lead and Patty Jenkins at the helm, but a Whedon-headed take on the Amazonian could have been, well, amazing.
