12 Things You Might Have Missed In The Logan Trailer

Despite being one of the most beloved and iconic cinematic superheroes around, Wolverines's two solo movies do not rank among many people's top comic book movies. Both X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Wolverine - in particular the former - squandered interesting premises as things devolved into mindless action. With the upcoming third Wolverine movie being Hugh Jackman's last appearance in the role after 17 years, there is a lot of pressure on it to step up to the plate and act as a terrific send-off to the character.

The other old face (emphasis on the old) we see in the trailer is Professor Charles Xavier, looking far from his typical dapper self. It’s genuinely upsetting to see the Professor out of his wheelchair and bedridden, clearly extremely ill, but if we pull ourselves together for a minute we can glean some story details here.

Going by the cavernous interior of Xavier’s location and the old water tower that Logan looks to call home, it seems the pair are laying low together – which does suggest they’re all that’s left of the X-Men. Logan’s dialogue and Patrick Stewart’s glassy-eyed expression also heavily suggest that the Professor is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease – a real tragedy for someone known for his mental powers.

On a lighter note, Xavier seems to have grown back some hair. He clearly sports some wispy strands on the back of his head here as opposed to his classic completely bald look. Has he just been shaving it all these years and we didn’t realize?
