3 From Hell‘s latest casting coup spells double trouble.
Nipping at the heels of yesterday’s cryptic Instagram post, writer-director Rob Zombie has confirmed that, yes, Clint Howard of Halloween, The Lords of Salem and El Superbeasto has agreed to play Mr. Baggy Britches, the second clown of Ruggsville.
The upcoming horror threequel, which has been pitched as the long-awaited continuation of The Devil’s Rejects – itself a sequel to House of 1,000 Corpses – is currently lensing across parts of the country ahead of a potential release later this year. Or early 2019, should Zombie and his team decide that 3 From Hell needs a little more time in the oven.
Whatever the case, Clint Howard will be a part of the old-school scarefest, after all, which tells us that Captain Spaulding (Sid Haig) will have some competition in the scary clown department. Details of Howard’s actual role are being kept under lock and key, but Zombie’s latest status report did include the following caption: “Some of you already guessed it. Clint Howard has joined the cast of 3 From Hell.”
Elsewhere on the casting docket, the director has called upon his usual pool of collaborators for 3 From Hell, including Austin Stoker (Assault on Precinct 13), The Howling and Cujo‘s Dee Wallace, Phillips, and Daniel Roebuck of Halloween fame, the latter of whom will be reprising his Devil’s Rejects role of Morris Green, Ruggsville’s number-one TV personality.
Not a day goes by without some form of horror-related update from Rob Zombie’s Instagram feed it seems, so stay tuned for more developments as 3 From Hell begins to take shape.
