2) A New Joker
When DC announced that Jared Leto would be taking on the role that Heath Ledger immortalized in The Dark Knight, reactions were hugely divided. Understandably, many felt that it would be impossible for Ledger’s final Oscar winning performance to be bettered, but it’s clear now that we won’t be dealing with a carbon copy of the legendary role.
Everyone involved in Suicide Squad, including Leto himself, seems intent on creating a new Joker, one who could stand on his own merits as one of the most iconic villains of all time. The success of this will be pivotal to the success of Suicide Squad as a whole and from what we’ve seen so far in the trailer, it looks like they have a real chance of pulling this off.
From Leto’s cackle to his disturbing new look, it feels like this could genuinely turn out to be great and dare I say it, perhaps even the best version of the Joker that we’ve seen so far…
