A mind-melting psychological horror is coming to blur the lines of reality on streaming

Get your Shudder subscriptions fired up.

It’s become an accepted norm in the realm of cinematic horror to gather your favorite snacks and enjoy the latest spooky sensation in the comfort of your own home. Of course, this concept has tripled in popularity over the last several years, which initially started due to the effects of COVID-19 on the theatrical box-office and the decrease in moviegoers actually heading out to the theaters. As a result, streaming services have absolutely skyrocketed, and horror service Shudder has arguably become one of the most popular — especially thanks to movies like Nocebo.

The upcoming horror extravaganza is the latest viral sensation completely blowing up online, resulting in an influx of film buffs firing up their Shudder subscription to feast their eyes on the mind-melting feature. And with a premise that centers around the complexities of a tick phobia and the struggles of a mysterious illness, it certainly comes as no surprise that this horror flick would attract so much attention.

After being released in the United States in November of last year, the Filipino-Irish horror experience failed to completely impress no-nonsense critics on Rotten Tomatoes — with its initial score only touching 69 percent. And yet, with the mind-bending feature coming to Shudder US in just a few days, a whirlwind of horror stans have undoubtedly set their sights on the film with the hopes of being pleasantly surprised with its jaw-dropping ending and unique formula.

Nocebo is set to haunt Shudder US on Feb. 24.
