A rage-fueled actioner wages a brutal war on the streaming Top 10 in 63 countries

When all else fails, bloody vengeance is often the only answer.

Netflix may have almost completely cornered the market when it comes to streaming exclusives set in the mystery thriller space scoring impressive viewership figures – with a new entry racking up millions of minutes on a weekly basis – but the overwhelming global success of Sayen has seen Prime Video step into the ring to try and take on the industry leader at its own game.

Per FlixPatrol, the rage-fueled rampage of revenge has nabbed a Top 10 berth in 63 countries dotted across five continents, good enough to see it rank as the platform’s second most-watched title on a worldwide level behind only star-studded action comedy Die Hart: The Movie.

In 23 of those nations Sayen holds the number one spot, so co-directors Alexander Witt and Victor Uribe have clearly struck a nerve that’s ensared audiences in its maw. The story plunges Rallen Montenegro’s title hero in the midst of a maelstrom, with the vengeful youngster dedicating herself to tracking down the people who murdered her grandmother.

Weaponizing her knowledge and familiarity with the local Chilean terrain, it doesn’t take long before the tables begin to turn, while there’s also a conspiracy thrown into the mix that finds a nefarious corporation threatening the indigenous land her people and ancestors have called home for generations.

Hard-hitting, powerful, and with plenty to say on some hot-button sociopolitical topics, Sayen is a bone-crunching genre flick with a powerful personal and emotional core, one that’s been burrowed deep into the minds of Prime Video customers looking at its stellar performance.
