There’s a lot riding on the success of Deadpool. If it ends up being a hit, it will not only launch a brand new franchise for X-Men rights holders Fox, but could change the game when it comes to seeing more adult orientated comic book adaptations (just don’t go expecting the Disney owned Marvel Studios to start green-lighting movies with this much violence, nudity and swearing).

Throw in the fact that the studio has reportedly put the Deadpool sequel in the slot held by Fantastic Four 2, and things are certainly looking good for Wade Wilson…if this movie ends up being a hit that is. We’ll just have to wait and see, but if its unique marketing campaign has paid off, Deadpool might just end up exceeding expectations.

Starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool is set to be released on February 12th, 2016.
