The Addams Family Move To New Jersey In New Trailer For Reboot

The first full trailer for The Addams Family animated reboot teases the kooky, spooky brood moving to New Jersey, and causing upset in the neighborhood.

They’re kooky, they’re spooky and they’re coming back to theaters for the first time since the 1990s! The Addams Family are getting a much-needed reboot with this October’s animated movie, and the first full trailer for the flick has now arrived. It features a few of the jokes shown in the previous teaser, but it also gives us a much better feel for the plot and tone of the film.

The Addams will be brought to gloomy life in animation by an all-star cast. Oscar Isaac and Charlize Theron are doting parents Gomez and Morticia, with Chloe Grace Moretz and Finn Wolfhard as kids Wednesday and Pugsley. Rounding out the brood are Nick Kroll as Uncle Fester and Bette Midler as Grandmama. As can be seen from the trailer, Allison Janney’s local busybody will serve as the antagonist of the piece, as she doesn’t take to the creepy family who’ve just moved into her New Jersey neighborhood.

The trailer promises that all the usual beloved Addams will be present and correct, then, including the diminutive Cousin Itt – who appears in the final scene of the preview. And in a hilariously unexpected move, it seems the squeaking hairball is voiced by none other than Snoop Dogg!

Itt won’t be the only extended Addams relation turning up, though, as the official synopsis promises that the household will be preparing for a family reunion in the movie.

The Addams family’s lives begin to unravel when they face-off against the 21st century and its treacherous, greedy, arrogant and sly reality TV host Margaux Needler (Allison Janney) while also preparing for their extended family to arrive for a major celebration.

Hopefully The Addams Family animated reboot – helmed by Sausage Party directors Conrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan – will be a real scream when it arrives in cinemas on October 11th. So far, at least, things are definitely looking promising.
