Anne Hathaway Would Love A Catwoman Spin-Off

Even though it would probably take a machine like that one from Total Recall to erase the horrifying memories of the last attempt at making a Catwoman film, Anne Hathaway - The Dark Knight Rises actress who played a much better incarnation of said character than Halle Berry - has expressed an interest in returning to the role, given that even talking about the fact that she can no longer play Catwoman causes her to burst into tears. Even though it would probably take a machine like that one in Total Recall to erase the horrifying memories of the last attempt at making a Catwoman film, Anne HathawayThe Dark Knight Rises actress who played a much better incarnation of said character – has expressed an interest in returning to the role, given that even talking about the fact that she can no longer play Catwoman causes her to burst into tears. Seriously. Here’s what Hathaway had to say on the matter:

“No one’s talked to me about it. [But] I would love it. I was at a press [conference] the other night for a screening of The Dark Knight Rises, and the moderator asked me, ‘So what was it like to say goodbye to the character?’ And I burst into tears, because I miss her.”

Despite the fact that there might be some potential in the idea of a Catwoman spin-off, this seems to have verged into “Ewan McGregor wants to return for Star Wars: Episode VII” territory – after all, the last we saw Selina Kyle she’d officially hung up her extremely tight-fitting leather catsuit and had gone out for a bite to eat with Bruce Wayne. As far as what the movie was trying to tell us goes, this little lady’s time as Catwoman was over.

Besides, Christopher Nolan has mentioned on a number of occasions that his trilogy is done with, and further continuations of the franchise would be very unlikely. Not that that means a damn thing these days, in an age where lying about things has become marketable. No Robin in The Dark Knight Rises, Chris? Hm? Hm?

What do you think? Would you like to see an Anne Hathaway-based Catwoman spin-off, or have we had enough of this particularly feisty character for now?
