Spider-Man Far From Home: Another villain who might feature in the film

Adding to the previous hearsay of Hydro-Man and Chameleon both making appearances in the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel, MCU Cosmic has relayed word that Mark Raxton, aka Molten Man, will be getting in on the action, too. Though this is another suggestion that made the rounds a few months ago, apparently there’s some fresh evidence for the rumor in the form of a Molten Man figure that’s being including in a Far From Home toy line.

Leaker Jeremy Conrad stresses that this isn’t conclusive proof that the character is in the film, since tie-in toys are often produced for Marvel characters who aren’t in the movies themselves, but it’s still a pretty promising sign.

Should Molten Man, along with the other rumored villains, be confirmed to feature in the upcoming flick, you can expect a few fans to get nervous about the overwhelming number of antagonists. After all, this overabundance of enemies was part of what made Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 so narratively messy.

For what it’s worth, however, this next film looks to be taking on a very different structure from those multi-stranded stories, with each of these villains potentially serving as the focus of their own little episode in Spidey and Mysterio’s trip across Europe, rather than complicating the overall story with their own character arcs.

In any case, we’ll see what threats Peter and Quentin encounter on their travels when Spider-Man: Far From Home hits theaters on July 5th, 2019.
