At this point, it’s looking increasingly likely that Marvel is rounding up a who’s who of incredible villains for Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Up first was the casting of Jake Gyllenhaal as Quentin Beck (AKA Mysterio), which came hand-in-hand with the news that Michael Keaton’s Vulture will be returning for the 2019 sequel. And that’s not all.

Not only has Numan Acar been tipped to play the Chameleon, but we’ve since learned that Far From Home may feature yet another Spidey staple – Hydro-Man. It doesn’t stop there, either, as we’re now hearing from MCU Cosmic that an additional antagonist may show up to give Peter Parker trouble as well, and he goes by the name of Mark Raxton aka Molten Man.

First appearing in Amazing Spider-Man #28, way back in 1965, Raxton’s involvement remains strictly as a rumor for now, as we understand the character was spotted as part of an upcoming LEGO set for Far From Home. Of course, we all know how often toys and merchandise seem to reveal spoilers only for them to turn out to be wrong in the end, but it’s interesting to note, as MCU Cosmic tells us, that Molten Man has connections to Spencer Smythe, another character who’s been linked with the sequel.

And while we’re on the topic of villains, another familiar face recently spotted in the UK capital where Far From Home is shooting is Jake Gyllenhaal, suggesting that the actor’s now filming his scenes for the pic. How exactly he’ll factor into the plot remains unknown at this early, early stage, but from the looks of things, this next film is likely to see Peter continue in his struggle to balance his duties as Spidey with his obligations as a student, all while keeping his identity a secret. Let’s just hope he’ll be able to handle it all when Spider-Man: Far From Home swings into theaters on July 5th, 2019.
