Armie Hammer And Alexander Skarsgård Eyed For The Invisible Man

It was just a few weeks ago that Armie Hammer denied the rumor that he was in final talks to be the next Batman, making it tempting to approach any fresh reports of similar news with a little more skepticism than usual. Specifically, it’s said that the two current frontrunners for the part are Hammer and True Blood star Alexander Skarsgård. According to the recent report, the role that each actor is gunning for is that of Adrian Griffin – an obvious nod to Dr. Griffin from the original H. G. Wells novel. This “billionaire sociopath” is said have made his money by developing an invisibility suit for the Department of Defense, and seeing how this a Blumhouse production from Upgrade director Leigh Whannell, we can expect the situation to get a little ugly.

Speaking of casting, at the start of this month, Variety reported that Elisabeth Moss of Mad Men and The Handmaid’s Tale fame was also in talks for a role. The new THS report doubles down on this claim, while adding that the part Moss is in the running for is a character named Cecilia Kass.

Though no release date has been set for The Invisible Man, it’s said that production will begin in May, suggesting that it hopefully won’t be much longer before we get some confirmation on the line-up that Whannell is working with. As always, watch this space for more.
