Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms His Involvement In Terminator 5

With the return of the Governator in The Last Stand, which opened to pretty positive reviews, people are starting to talk about Arnold Schwarzenegger again and more specifically, his involvement in the upcoming Terminator 5. Recently, we found out that scripting duties had been assigned to Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. And while most assumed that Arnie would be back reprising his role, Bleeding Cool has now received confirmation from the actor himself that he will appear in the film.

Now, Schwarzenegger was attached a couple years ago back when Justin Lin was set to direct. But once Lin dropped out, Schwarzenegger claimed to have no idea what was going on with the film and at that point, many assumed that it would never get made. But now here we are and not only do we have writers taking another crack at the script, but we also have confirmation from Arnie that he’ll be in it.

Currently, it’s unclear how big Arnold’s role will be, especially given his age, but we do know that he will be appearing in the film in some capacity and that’s enough to get me into theatres. I think Schwarzenegger is great. Not necessarily a great actor, just a great screen presence and I enjoy watching him a lot. I’m also a big fan of the Terminator films (we’ll just try to forget Terminator Salvation) and I’m thrilled to see that they are moving on with the series and planning more films for the iconic franchise. How Terminator 5 will turn out is anyone’s guess but thus far, I think it’s in good hands.

It looks like Ah-nold is making a big return folks. He pleased fans and critics alike in The Last Stand and he already has plans for sequels to Twins and Conan. In addition, he also has The Tomb and Ten currently in production. He may be 65, but it’s clear that he isn’t slowing down anytime soon and as a fan of the actor, and some of his classic 80’s action films, I couldn’t be happier.

What do you guys think? Does Arnie still have it? Can he still pull off his role in Terminator 5? Let us know in the comments below.
