The record-breaking finale to the Avengers saga has caused fights, thrilled millions of moviegoers and made fans and actors alike break down and cry. The record-breaking finale to the Avengers saga has caused fights, thrilled millions of moviegoers and made fans and actors alike break down and cry. And judging by the reactions on social media, it also seems that spoiling the flick should be an offense punishable by death. But damn, who knew that the movie would result in a tale of revenge that unfolded over an entire year?

Redditor Jus10Sch is a Marvel fan and like almost every other Marvel fan, he hates spoilers. When Avengers: Infinity War came out, he, like so many, was excited to see it. He posted on Instagram about his excitement and pleaded that nobody spoil it for him. Humans can really suck though, so someone replied to his post with a list of every character who died. Jus10Sch could’ve left it there, but then we wouldn’t have an epic tale of revenge to write about, now would we?

Over the course of the next year, he pretended to befriend the spoiling dirtbag. He lied, saying he’d been joking about not seeing Infinity War yet and they became fast fake friends, exchanging memes and discussing movies for months, until Endgame‘s release. The strangely devoted hero of our story then went to see it on opening night, took a boatload of pictures of the film (yikes) and prayed that the villainous SpoilerMan hadn’t seen it yet. Turns out Jus10Sch got his wish, and messaged his soon-to-be victim after watching the sequel.

According to Jus10Sch, here’s what happened next:

“In one glorious action, I sent all the pictures as fast as I could, messaging plot points along with the pictures. It was all over in like 30 seconds, but he definitely saw it all. Then he said “Why would you do that, we’re such good friends?” And I texted back, “we’re not friends, a year ago you picked me out of a crowd of thousands and ruined a movie that I had been wanting to see for months, since then I’ve been lying to you, deceiving you and gaining your trust all for this moment. You are not my friend, just a person who got what they deserve.” Then, he cursed me out some more, and I haven’t talked to him since.

Holy crap. You can read the entire story here, but for everyone involved, just wow. That’s all we can say.
