In the “Special Look” video that dropped this morning to coincide with Endgame tickets going on sale, there’s a shot of Tony Stark staring mournfully at a photo of himself and Tom Holland’s character. Accompanying this visual is the voice of Thanos as he begins his short speech with the words, “You could not live with your own failure.” Evidently, the moment hit a lot of viewers right where it hurts, and many have taken to Twitter to share their heartbreak.

Of course, it’s long been clear that the wall-crawler isn’t going to stay dead for long. In fact, Peter is already confirmed to return later this year in Spider-Man: Far From Home – a film that producers Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige have both said takes place after the events of Endgame.

That being said, there may soon come a day where Peter is the one looking at that picture with a look of despair on his face. After all, it’s generally assumed that the Infinity War sequel will serve as Iron Man’s final outing in the MCU. And while we certainly can’t rule out a quiet retirement for the character, Stark has long been one of the most frequently predicted fatalities of the film.

Regardless, we’ll find out if Peter and Tony at least get to have an emotional reunion before the latter’s exit when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
