Between giving us our first glimpse of the Avengers: Infinity War team post-snap and confirming the old rumor of the film’s official title, the teaser shows us how Hawkeye’s going to look in the upcoming release, and wouldn’t you know it, he’s Ronin now.

For fans who’ve been keeping track of the leaks and speculation, it will hardly come as the biggest shock that Jeremy Renner’s character has assumed this dark new persona. We’ve been seeing clues all year that this is the route Marvel will be taking with the Phase 1 Avenger, and even when the character was a no-show in Infinity War, producer Kevin Feige was teasing big plans for the guy who shoots arrows.

Speaking of which, it’ll be interesting as always to see how Clint holds his own with his super-powered peers, especially with this next outing looking to take the team into some far-out places, whether it’s new planets or the Quantum Realm. We’ve underestimated Hawkeye before, and if the theories of his family being among the snap’s victims are true, then the hero will have as much motivation as anyone to make a certain interplanetary conqueror very hurt.

We’ll see how many aliens get an arrow stuck in them when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th, 2019.
