Avengers: Endgame Trailer Teases A Costume Change For Thanos

The Avengers: Endgame trailer, released yesterday morning, didn't give too much away, as it mostly focused on setting up a dark tone for the fourth Avengers movie following the devastating events of Infinity War. Most of its two-minutes was spent with the remaining heroes, so there wasn't much of Thanos at all. However, from what little we did see, we did find something out: the Mad Titan's going to change his shirt.

The only glimpse we get of the villain in the trailer is a brief moment which shows that the bad guy’s remained on Titan 2 following achieving his goal to bring balance to the universe. He’s hung up his armor like a scarecrow on his grounds – something pulled from the comics – and we see him wander through an alien wheat field, acting like he’s now at one with nature.

Though we can only really see his lower half, if you look closely, it can be glimpsed that Thanos isn’t wearing his usual blue armored vest in this scene. You can see from his waistline that he’s wearing a much more laid-back white knitted shirt instead. This is a unique look for the character created for the film but it must be a homage to “Farmer Thanos” from The Infinity Gauntlet comic, in which he wears a green tunic (also seen in the gallery below).

Kudos to Jeremy Conrad of MCU Cosmic for spotting this one. He also noted that Thanos still has the limp that he developed by the end of Infinity War, heavily suggesting that this scene takes place near the beginning of Avengers: Endgame. We don’t exactly know what’s next for the Mad Titan, but we’re pretty sure his dreams of living a quiet life will be ruined when he realizes the remaining Avengers are trying to undo the effects of his finger snap.

And we’ll find out how he retaliates when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters on April 26th.
