Avengers: Endgame’s Sebastian Stan Says Bucky’s Dead

Being an actor in the MCU can often be a confusing and disorienting experience, one which comes with its fair share of fake scripts, last-minute info, and multiple projects being shot at the same time. So, when Sebastian Stan said late last year that he doesn’t even know if he'll appear in Avengers: Endgame, the claim wasn’t as ridiculous as you might think.

What’s more, the Bucky Barnes actor continues to keep his distance from the Infinity War sequel, asserting just recently that he didn’t have anything to do with the film. It seems he’s refusing to budge, too, as he was asked about how his character will return in Endgame while appearing on The Late Late Show With James Corden this week, and here’s what he had to say:

“Bucky’s dead. Happy New Year. That’s it. That’s all I got.”

Fair enough, but even though Stan’s right and Bucky is indeed dead, that certainly doesn’t rule out the actor appearing in Endgame. For one thing, we know that many of the heroes who were dusted by Thanos will somehow return, and given how important Mr. Barnes is to the MCU, we can’t imagine him being gone for long. Ditto for the rest of the gang, like Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, Black Panther, etc.

Furthermore, despite Bucky’s death in Infinity War, it’s already been confirmed that he’ll take the lead opposite Sam Wilson in their own TV show coming to Disney Plus. And while it’s true that it might end up being a prequel of some sort, we still fully expect to see them both alive and well again when Avengers: Endgame hits theaters later this year on April 26th. Until then, feel free to speculate in the comments section down below and let us know how you think all these characters will be brought back.
