Avengers: Infinity War Calendar Gives Us A New Look At Our Favorite Heroes

As we head into 2018, there's no movie that's got quite as much hype behind it as Avengers: Infinity War. The Russo brothers look set to deliver a jaw-dropping experience that will cap off ten years of story in the MCU, provide a never-before-seen superhero team-up on screen and last (but for Disney certainly not least), it's guaranteed to rake in a ton of dough.

The Infinity War moneymaking machine has an endless amount of tie-in products, most of which are produced way in advance of release and the art they use can give us a decent idea of what’s coming in May. The latest is this branded calendar of Russian origin showing ten prominent heroes from the pic.

From top left to bottom right, we get Spider-Man, Captain America, Iron Man, Star-Lord, Black Widow, Gamora, Teenage Groot, Thor, Rocket Raccoon and Doctor Strange. Most of them, especially the Guardians of the Galaxy characters, look pretty much like you’d expect them to – but there are some interesting wrinkles when we get to Spider-Man, Captain America and Thor.

Everyone who’s seen the epic first trailer knows that the film will have Spider-Man receiving a new, presumably Stark-branded, suit. This looks a tad more armored than Spidey’s usual fare, but then again, monsters from another world and space titans aren’t exactly on the same level as your average mugger from the mean streets of Queens, right?

Also interesting is Captain America’s look. It’s good to see that the stylish beard remains in these promotional shots, but his haircut seems a little more clean-shaven than we’ve seen in previous posters. Who knows, perhaps Cap finds time to stop off in the barbers while the world collapses around him?

Last but by no means least is Thor, who seems to have grown his missing eye back. My thoughts on this are that the calendar is a bit misleading. That’s because I’m sure that the God of Thunder will have his Odin-echoing eyepatch in Infinity War and this promo art here is working from images provided before Thor: Ragnarok‘s release.

Regardless, we’ll find out for sure quite soon, as once Black Panther has its time in the sun on February 16th, Marvel will begin pulling together its costumed crusaders for what is undoubtedly the biggest MCU movie to date. Yes, there’s an Infinity War on the horizon, and Joe and Anthony Russo are expected to kick things off on May 4th, 2018, before the so-far untitled Avengers 4 puts a bow on Marvel’s Phase 4 the following year.
