Robert Downey Jr. Hints At Another Cap/Iron Man Duel Ahead Of Avengers: Infinity War

Some wounds never heal, and it appears Tony Stark and Captain America's relationship will take a big turn in Avengers: Infinity War.

When it comes to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a lot has transpired since the launch of Captain America: Civil War – Spidey has sprung, the Sorcerer Supreme reigned, and Asgard crumbled at the hands of Hela.

It sets the stage for what is perhaps the movie event of 2018 – Avengers: Infinity War. Yes, Joe and Anthony Russo’s star-studded sequel continues to garner a ton of buzz online, and USA Today has the latest scoop. Earlier today, the outlet shared a high-res photo of Thor being nursed back to health under the watchful eye of Mantis – chances are those psychic abilities will come in pretty handy.

But as is standard practice, the photo came tethered with a quote – this time from Robert Downey Jr., which has been construed as a potentially alarming red flag among the Marvel community.

Soon after revealing his excitement about sharing the screen with Star-Lord and Co., RDJ drew attention to Tony Stark’s fractured relationship with his old buddy, Steve Rogers (AKA Captain America/Nomad), which is seemingly about to “take a turn” in the aftermath of Civil War. Some wounds never heal, as the old saying goes.

Via USA Today:

That’s the hardest for me, because I look at Evans and I just to want to go over and smell him or tell him he looks cool in those sunglasses when he’s walking over to have lunch. And then I’m just staring daggers at him, getting mad. But even that relationship is going to take a turn.

The stakes have never been higher, and as the journey to Avengers: Infinity War continues, we can readily expect one or two big revelations (and likely a second trailer) to drop before May 4th, 2018.
