Avengers: Infinity War Directors Reveal Their Favorite Team-Ups

Avengers: Infinity War will feature many superhero partnerships and directors Anthony and Joe Russo have now revealed their favorite team-ups.

Avengers: Infinity War features just about every single one of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes in the same movie for the first time ever. The result will be some unusual pairings between the characters, as the likes of the Avengers, the Guardians and Doctor Strange finally meet. But who, if pressed, would the best unlikely team-up be?

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo were asked this question by Screen Rant and gave two different, intriguing answers. First up, Anthony picked the union of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy, teasing that the dynamic between the group “evolves” over the course of Infinity War.

“That’s a very tough question, but I might go with a combination of Thor and the Guardians. There’s an interesting dynamic that evolves between the two groups, and especially between Thor and Quill. That is a lot of fun.”

We’ve already got a taste of Thor and Star-Lord’s partnership thanks to the trailers, which promise lots of laughs to come. In particular, Peter clearly feels insecure by how much his team are in awe of the God of Thunder’s muscles. He even tries to imitate the lower pitch of Thor’s voice, though it doesn’t fool his friends.

Joe Russo then put forward his own top choice. He named Doctor Strange and Iron Man as his favorite pairing in Infinity War, comparing the Awesome Beard Bros to a couple of Siamese fighting fish, hinting that Tony and Strange will butt heads during the film.

“I’ll say Strange and Stark. I like two narcissists. It’s like two Betta fish in a tank going at each other.”

The trailers haven’t actually shown us too much of Strange and Stark’s interactions, so the fact that a feud develops between them is news to us. However, considering that they both possess massive egos, it’s not totally surprising. A recent TV spot actually revealed that it’s Stephen that goes to Tony for help, though he doesn’t look too pleased about it.

Fans can make their own minds up about their favorite pairings quite soon, as Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters on April 27th.
