Even though Avengers: Infinity War is just eight months away now, Marvel hasn’t really revealed anything about the movie so far. A couple of posters leaked from this summer’s Comic-Con, as did some footage (though that was quickly removed), but that’s about it. At least one fan is tired of waiting around, though, and has instead created their own dream poster for the movie – and it really is something.
Based off the classic Infinity Gauntlet cover from the comics, the colourful cosmic image is focused around Thanos the Mad Titan and his all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet, which we know he’ll finally get to use very soon after years of teasing. Surrounding him are the assembled heroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and you can check it out along with a few other posters that’ve surfaced recently in the gallery below.
On the top left-hand side, we have Hulk, Doctor Strange, Vision and Black Panther. Below them, there’s Black Widow, Rocket, Groot, War Machine, Thor and Loki. In the bottom centre, the bearded ex-Captain America is flanked by Spider-Man and Drax, with Ant-Man on his shoulder. Next to them is Scarlet Witch, Mantis, Winter Soldier, Star-Lord, Hawkeye and Falcon. Sisters Gamora and Nebula then find a space with, last but certainly not least, Iron Man. Oh, and check out the Milano and other familiar ships surrounding Thanos’ head.
Overall, it’s an amazing achievement that’s head and shoulders above the slapdash photoshopped efforts that Hollywood studios tend to come up with – some of the worst offenders in recent times include this Spider-Man: Homecoming poster and the recent Tomb Raider effort. In other words, Marvel’s going to have to work hard to top this. The only advantage an official poster would have is the access to images from the actual movie, rather than the cleverly edited photos from prior films used in this one.
Avengers: Infinity War is set to arrive in theatres on May 4th, 2018. Though we’d advise you don’t get your hopes up too much, it’s rumoured that the first trailer could arrive next week, to tie into the TV release of Inhumans. As always, watch this space for more.
