Of the 18 Marvel movies released thus far, only a handful are considered ‘essential viewing’ leading up to Avengers: Infinity War.

Joss Whedon’s original Avengers film is a must, as it establishes the MCU’s ragtag crew as Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, while Guardians of the Galaxy goes far beyond our planet to explore Star-Lord and his own escapades, culminating in the moment when he forms his own team comprised of Drax, Gamora, Rocket and Groot.

Other MCU installments that you’ll need to watch before Infinity War include Captain America: The First Avenger, Civil War, Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, Age of Ultron and Doctor Strange, whose mysticism and ancient powers help unlock the door to Marvel’s so-called Multiverse.

In saying that, with only seven days remaining between now and April 27th, you’d be forgiven for losing track of the MCU’s continuity. Don’t fret, though, as Cinema Blend has posted what is perhaps the perfect primer for Avengers: Infinity War. And it’s only six minutes in length.

Because as one of the most-anticipated movies of the decade, the excitement swirling around Avengers: Infinity War is palpable. Adding fuel to the fire is Anthony Mackie, who went on record just yesterday to claim that Joe and Anthony Russo’s Herculean crossover is, hands down, the best superhero movie he’s ever seen thanks to its intricate storyline and jaw-dropping plot twists.

“I will say this. After seeing the movie, it’s by far the best superhero movie I’ve ever seen. It’s by far the best storyline, the best plot twists… Everything about the movie works, and that’s why they had to make it into two movies. Because it’s so dynamic and because it’s so powerful. And if you see part 3, you’re definitely going to see part 4.”

We’ll be able to see what all that fuss is about once Avengers: Infinity War finally – finally! – hits theaters on April 27th. One week, people!
