The arrival of Thanos has been long foretold, but what about the Black Order?

Proving that you can’t conquer Earth alone, Marvel’s Mad Titan will be flanked by a ragtag group comprised of Proxima Midnight, Loki, Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive and Cull Obsidian. Together, they form the Black Order, a nefarious group of intergalactic savages that all have one thing in common: they’re the adopted children of Thanos.

Yes, similar to Gamora (Zoe Saldana) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) and their own ties to the Mad Titan, the Black Order wage war against the Avengers in the name of their estranged, power-mongering father, who is stubborn in his belief that a full-blown Infinity War is just what the universe needs.

Indeed, if you’re just logging on for the day, you may have missed the latest (and arguably greatest) trailer for Avengers: Infinity War, which features a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot of the Black Order in its entirety.

Black Order in Avengers Infinity War

All four members are placed in the company of Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, who appears to be pretty pissed that Thanos decided to crush the Tesseract with his bare, purple hands. That’s an intriguing plot development in and of itself, as it indicates that Josh Brolin’s CG-powered baddie will manipulate Loki into thinking that the Asgardian refugees have been spared – peer close enough and you’ll notice a number of bodies littering the scene.

Not only that, but the fact that Proxima Midnight has her spear pointed in the direction of Loki’s throat leads us to believe that Hiddleston’s anti-hero won’t bow down to Thanos – nor will he assist in his plan to wipe out half the universe.

Chalk that up as innocent conjecture for now, though, as Marvel will likely keep the rest of Avengers: Infinity War under wraps until its planned release on April 27th.
