Zack Snyder wowed Hall H attendees this morning when he showed up at San Diego Comic-Con unannounced and revealed not only the first official image of Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, but a teaser for Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice that sent waves of positive buzz across the internet like wildfire.
The footage wasn’t much, but featured Ben Affleck as Batman, dressed in a fully armored suit akin to the one he wears in his battle with Superman at the end of Frank Miller’s seminal comic, The Dark Knight Returns. He turns on the Bat signal, which reveals an angry Superman with red glowing eyes in the sky. As much as Snyder wanted to downplay their rivalry in this film, one thing is very clear: This is definitely going to include Batman versus Superman.
Those of us who weren’t in attendance in Hall H this morning unfortunately won’t see the footage for a long time, but we have been treated to our first image of the armored Batsuit thanks to a fan with a camera phone. It’s not the best picture, and is mostly filled with the back of someone’s head, but it still gives us a great idea of what the new suit looks like.
As you can see, it looks nearly identical to Miller’s design, right down to the white glowing eyes. Many have compared the design to Iron Man, but I guess that was unavoidable. In any case, the suit looks awesome, and I can’t wait to see an official high-resolution photo.
