Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice Leads The Razzie Nominations Shortlist

As we head into the thick of awards season, it's time to celebrate all the incredible films that 2016 brought us. La La Land, Moonlight, Manchester by the Sea, Deadpool and Arrival will no doubt find themselves on the lips of many moviegoers over the next few weeks, while talent like Amy Adams, Casey Affleck, Emma Stone, Adam Driver and Denzel Washington, among others, will also start picking up some serious buzz.

But, as the best of the best start to take up most of the spotlight, there’s another another awards ceremony gearing up to get underway, and it’ll be celebrating very different types of movies and actors/actresses. We are, of course, referring to the Razzie Awards, which shine a light on the worst that the year had to offer. From the biggest losers to performances that were so dull you couldn’t stand to watch them, the Razzies make sure that people know what to avoid when it comes to film.

And so, with the ceremony set to take place in February and the list of nominations being revealed on January 23rd, we now have the final shortlist for each respective category, which is sent out to all voters who must then choose 5 nominees per category to make the final nomination list. So, it’s not the official roster of Razzie nominees then, but it still gives us a pretty good idea of which films and actors/actresses might be picking up awards in a little over a month.

Much to the surprise of no one, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is leading the pack with an appearance in most of the major categories, while other stinkers from 2016 like Assassin’s Creed, Fifty Shades of Black and Suicide Squad also have a strong presence here. While none of it’s terribly surprising, it’s always fun to see who the Razzies choose to honor and this year is just as amusing as ever.

Take a look at the complete shortlist down below and let us know what you make of it.
