Thing Gets Bigger And Badder In New Thor: The Dark World Trailer

I'll be the first to admit that I didn't love Thor. It was one of my least favorite Marvel films and though I really enjoyed both Chris Hemsworth as the titular hero and Tom Hiddleston as Loki, the movie as a whole just didn't work for me. That being said, Thor: The Dark World is looking far more promising than its predecessor and as a part of the ongoing YouTube Geek Week, Marvel has released a new trailer for the film.

I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t love Thor. It was probably my least favorite Marvel film and though I really enjoyed both Chris Hemsworth as the titular hero and Tom Hiddleston as Loki, the movie as a whole just didn’t work for me. That being said, Thor: The Dark World is looking far more promising than its predecessor and as a part of the ongoing YouTube Geek Week, Marvel has released a new trailer for the film.

Made up of mostly never before seen footage, the trailer gives us a closer look at the dynamic and interactions between Loki and Thor, as the two will be teaming up in this film rather then facing off against each other. We also get some more shots of the supporting players (Natalie Portman, Idris Elba etc.) and of course, there’s also a hint of that signature Marvel humor (the reference to The Avengers did put a smile on my face).

Overall, it’s an appropriately epic trailer and it definitely has me excited. Like I said above, I wasn’t terribly impressed with Thor but as of now, I am looking forward to Thor: The Dark World, as I think it looks a lot grittier and a bit darker, which is how I like my superhero films.

Check out the official synopsis below:

Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself.  In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Thor: The Dark World stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo and Anthony Hopkins. It will land in theatres on November 8th. Check out the new trailer below and let us know what you think.
